Freeform
Book Cover

I was inspired to create this freeform knit and crochet book cover after I had the opportunity to take a freeform handbag class with the amazing Prudence Mapstone. Although I had intended to make a bag, the three-ring binder that I use to store my crochet hooks and circular knitting needles was calling out for a cover!

The bag includes a range of crochet stitches (including bobbles, ruffles, several bullion stitch variations, reverse crochet), as well as knit pieces in a variety of shapes and sizes. To tie everything together, I finished with a couple embroidered embellishments (those years and years of childhood embroider classes finally put to use again!).

Yarns:

  • Various Yarns, including Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted,  Artfibers Nanook, Artfibers Flounce, Artfibers Toto, Rowan Wool Cotton, and assorted bits and pieces from my yarn stash.
