Stockings

My first socks! I'm not really a sock person, so the idea of knitting socks has never really appealed to me. But this Christmas, I decided to knit new stockings for my parents and one of my sisters. All three stockings are my own design.

The cream stocking with red and green patterns is worked in slip stitch, eliminating the need to work more than one color per row.

The houndstooth stocking is based on a slip stitch pattern from Harmony Stitches, Volume 2.

The striped stocking is knit with alternating segments of red and cream yarn. The green vertical lines are sewn in later with duplicate stitch.

Yarns (Slip Stitch Stockings):

  • Muench Naturwolle (100% German New Wool)
  • Lamb's Pride Bulky (85% Wool/15% Mohair)

Yarns (Red and Cream Striped Stocking):
